Purple Basil is similar to Green Basil, but is considered more savory due to it’s more prevalent anise undertones. Use it in replacement of Green Basil in summer salads, make a purple pesto for pizza, or infuse it in vinegar. Popular in East Asian cuisine and Thai cooking, where is it also known as opal basil.
Store as you would flowers, in a vase with stems in water for 1-2 days. Keep leaves dry until ready to eat. Use day of for best results.
